Welcome To The Newcastle Skating Club!

The Newcastle Skating Club (NSC) is a non-profit organization of skaters, parents and coaches dedicated to providing skating enjoyment and helping skaters of all ages meet their individual goals. Since 1970, NSC has been fostering, promoting & advancing members by encouraging and cultivating a spirit of harmony and friendship within the community.

Our programs range from those just learning to skate as children, teens or adults, right up to skaters in more advanced levels. We also offer a fantastic power skating program for those wishing to refine their skating skills.

NSC provides top-notch coaching, skating and activities throughout the skating season, which runs from October to March. Skaters experience the joy of skating, the challenges of learning and demonstrating new skills and benefit from the terrific fitness opportunity it provides and as an added bonus our skaters develop amazing relationships in the community and life-long friendships.

Browse through our website to learn about the many different programs, meet our Coaches and see photos of our past ice shows. Feel free to contact us if you have questions about our programs.

Trillium Grant

Yes it is true! The Newcastle Skating Club, along with the Newcastle Arena and the Municipality of Clarington, were approved for a capital grant to build a dedicated music room in the arena.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Saturday November 21st, 2009 where we unveiled our new Music & Storage room, thanks in part to the grant from Ontario Trillium Foundation. Music is essential to the skating program and funding has helped to build a new addition to the building, which will house music and a storage facility for the Club’s various programs.

Come out and see the new room in action.

Congratulations Newcastle Skating Club!

As part of the grant, the skating club still needs to generate some addition funding for the project. We are also looking up upgrade some of our office equipment.

If you, or your company, are able to help sponsor the club in this way, please contact a board member or contact us at info@newcastlesc.ca

We have a sponsorship letter explaining all of the details.
